ABOUT SSP
SSP is a group that seeks to demonstrate that the area underneath the McGrath O'Brien Highway can be a viable space for public use. Inner city land is precious: why not put it to better use? Building on Somerville's reputation for displaying high quality art in unusual and unexpected spaces, SSP seeks to use art installations and performances to mend the dissection of the city by this busy thoroughfare.
"Project SUM: Sculpture Under McGrath", the first event produced by SSP, was held under the McGrath Highway in the fall of 2007. See the pictures at right of some of the work in progress. More behind the scenes and work in progress HERE.
You can also see the participating artists and their artwork for Project SUM 07 HERE.
